Launch of Apprenticeship Vacancy Service

City College Norwich is marking national Apprenticeship Week by launching the Apprenticeship Vacancy Matching Service (AVMS), an online initiative which matches up apprentices and employers.

The launch event takes place at St Andrews House and will feature speeches by current and past apprentices who will be sharing their experiences. This will be followed by a demonstration of the Apprenticeship Vacancy Matching Service.

Dick Palmer, City College Norwich Principal, said: “Apprenticeship Week is an opportunity to celebrate the notable achievements of employers and apprentices. Even in this tough economic climate, it is crucial that employers invest in the skills of their staff to maintain a competitive advantage. Apprenticeships are a great way of developing first-class skills in a variety of areas, from accountancy and engineering, to construction, creative industries and sport.

“The benefits of apprenticeships are two-fold. Businesses can take advantage of the enthusiasm and motivation that apprentices can bring whilst apprentices can enjoy fantastic hands-on training and qualifications.”

As part of the national campaign to raise the profile of apprenticeships, Alan Sugar is currently fronting an exciting new advertising campaign highlighting how Apprenticeships “Make Things Happen!”.
